Google Sync in ContactBook allows you to seamlessly integrate and manage your Google Contacts within our platform. This ensures that your contact list stays updated across devices and teams, eliminating the need for manual updates.

1. Setting Up Google Sync

To sync your Google Contacts with ContactBook, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to ContactBook – Open your ContactBook account.
  2. Go to Integrations – Navigate to the Google Sync option under Settings > Integrations.
  3. Connect Google Account – Click on "Connect Google" and sign in with the Google account you want to sync.
  4. Grant Permissions – Allow necessary permissions for ContactBook to access and manage your Google Contacts.
  5. Start Syncing – Once connected, the sync process will begin automatically.

2. How Google Sync Works

  • Initial Sync – When you connect your Google account, ContactBook fetches all your Google Contacts and imports them into your ContactBook workspace.
  • Two-Way Sync (for Google Sync Plan users)
    • If enabled, any changes made in Google Contacts will reflect in ContactBook and vice versa.
    • Newly added contacts in Google will automatically appear in ContactBook.
  • One-Way Sync (for Import Users)
    • If you only import contacts, they will be added to ContactBook but won’t sync back to Google.
    • Any updates made in ContactBook will not reflect in Google Contacts.
  • Sync Frequency – ContactBook syncs with Google Contacts periodically to ensure all updates are reflected in real time.

3. Managing Synced Contacts

  • View Synced Contacts – All contacts synced from Google will appear under your Contact List in ContactBook.
  • Edit & Update – You can modify contact details directly within ContactBook.
  • Bulk Sync – If you need to manually refresh your contacts, you can initiate a manual sync from the Google Sync settings.
  • Duplicate Management – ContactBook identifies duplicate contacts and offers options to merge or clean them up.

4. Troubleshooting Google Sync Issues

If your Google contacts are not syncing properly, try the following:

  • Check Integration Status – Ensure that your Google account is connected under Settings > Integrations.
  • Reauthorize Google Access – If the sync stops, disconnect and reconnect your Google account.
  • Wait for Sync Completion – Initial sync may take time depending on the number of contacts.
  • Manually Trigger Sync – Click "Sync Now" in the Google Sync settings to refresh your contacts.
  • Verify Your Plan – Two-way sync is only available for Google Sync plan users. If you’re on a trial or different plan, the sync may be one-way.
